Vietnamese Dessert: Che Ba Mau (Three Color Dessert.)
Hi Friends. Got some requests to tell you about Che Ba Mau (Three Color Dessert.) Time to share a bit of V-culture to those still wondering. Che Ba Mau literally translates to three color dessert. It's yellow: mung bean, red/brown: azuki or red bean, green: tapioca starch with shaved ice and coconut milk (traditional). However, half and half is also a good substitute. (: Enjoy!!!
There are two really good places for this in Little Saigon, Westminster, CA. Same family owns both. There flan is tops. They specialize only in these and other types of Vietnamese desserts. There's one in the TK Market Center and the other is on Westminster Avenue by Bolsa Grande High School. Best place for this type of dessert I have found outside of Vietnam. (:
Got the name for ya'll. The Vietnamese Desserts Shop is called
